The history of Christopher Lee

Hi,

one of the real life James Bonds, with some of the most interesting lives was Sir Christopher Frank Carandini Lee, who was also Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and who received the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem. This was achieved by him, being a real war time spy, as he was attached to Britain's Special Air Service (SAS) and the secretive Special Operations Executive as a Royal Air Force liaison officer, in addition to being seconded to the Army during the brutal Battle of Monte Cassino.

He was actually one of the descendents of the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire, and he actually enrolled to fight for the Finish army to fight the Russians at the start of the second world war. By the way, I have some Russian friends, who don't want to believe that the Russians together with the Germans started the second world war, by attacking a lot of countries.

After the war, he started acting, mostly in negative roles, from Count Dracula to Count Dooku. I enjoyed both of them. He played also Saruman, in The Lord of the Rings, even if J.R.R.Tolkien wanted him to be Gandalf. He called the filmed version a disgrace compared to the book.

I could write more of his amazing career, but will focus more on his life and why I see him as a role model.

He lived life to the fullest, but compared to many more other actors, decided to spend his time with only one wife, whom he was married for over 50 years, from the 60s till his death in 2015.

Not only did he leave a mark on the horror gender, but he was a full metal head, releasing an album, about his great ancestor, Charlemagne, the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.

Some say, he was the best connected man in the film industry, and I tend to believe them, as he really rocked, had some great movies, and he played mostly what he wanted to play.

For me, he is a role model, of dare and truth. One person that lived life as life shall be lived, to the fullest, making the best of it.

How about you? What person do you think had an incredible history?

Not to take anything away from the wonderful autobiography but the issue with war is that every side writes their own version of the story.
