Sylvenstein Dam - Sylvensteinstausee

Hello,

There have been a lot of sunny days in the last few weeks. That's why I was out and about a lot in the region. There are a lot of beautiful places in Bavaria that I haven't seen before. One of them was the Sylvenstein reservoir.

After a 40 minute drive from Munich, I was there. I parked near the dam.

in den letzten Wochen gab es sehr viele sonnige Tage. Deswegen war ich viel unterwegs in der Region. Es gibt sehr viele schöne Plätze in Bayern, die ich bis jetzt nicht gesehen habe. Eins davon war der Sylvensteinstausee.

Nach einer 40 Minütiger Fahrt von München, war ich da. Ich habe in der Nähe des Damms geparkt.

It was not possible to park directly on the dam. It was very busy, especially with motorcycle enthusiasts enjoying the winding and breathtaking route.

Direkt auf dem Damm ging es nicht. Es war sehr voll, insbesondere mit Motorrad Enthusiasten, die die Kurvenreiche und atemberaubende Strecke genießen.

The Sylvenstein reservoir was inaugurated in 1959 and is a reservoir on the Isar, which crosses Munich and flows into the Danube at Deggendorf. The Isar is a very wild river, which caused a lot of damage in spring by the meltwater in the Alps.

Because the construction of the dam stopped these storm and melt surges.

In addition to flood protection, a continuous water supply is ensured in dry years.

Der Sylvensteinstausee wurde 1959 eingeweiht, und ist ein Stausee auf der Isar, die München überquert und bei Deggendorf in die Donau reinfließt. Die Isar ist ein sehr wildes Fluss, welches im Frühling durch das Schmelzwasser in den Alpen sehr viel Schaden angerichtet hat.

Hat, weil durch den Bau des Damms, diese Sturm- und Schmelzfluten gestoppt worden sind.

Neben dem Hochwasserschutz wird eine kontinuierliche Wasserversorgung im trockenen Jahren gesichert.

As I said, I parked next to the dam and walked along the water. The water has a wonderful turquoise blue color, which can be seen in many alpine lakes.

Wie gesagt, habe neben dem Damm geparkt und bin zu Fuß entlang des Wasser spazieren gegangen. Das Wasser hat eine wunderbare Türkisblaue Farbe, was in vielen Alpenseen zu sehen ist.

A helicopter flew very low along the water, which disturbed the quiet of the area a bit. But it was quickly gone again.

Ein Hubschrauber ist sehr tief entlang des Wasser geflogen, was die Ruhe der Gegend ein bisschen gestört hat. War aber auch schnell wieder verschwunden.

One of the most beautiful views is from the bridge in the middle of the lake. From here you can see most of the Alps and the water.

There is a small pebble beach under the bridge. This pebble is brought from the Isar. A few endangered bird species use it as a breeding ground.

Eins der schönsten Ausblicken ist es auf der Brücke mitten im See. Von hier sieht man das meiste von den Alpen und vom Wasser.

Unter der Brücke gibt es ein kleines Kieselstein Strand. Dieses Kieselstein wird von der Isar gebracht. Ein paar bedrohte Vogelarten benützen es als Brutplatz.

I would recommend everyone to go under the water and stand still for a few minutes and enjoy the view. It is a very peaceful feeling that, for example, charges me with a lot of positive energy.

Ich würde jedem empfehlen unter am Wasser zu gehen und dort für ein paar Minuten still stehen und die Sicht genießen. Es ist ein sehr friedliches Gefühl, der mich zum Beispiel auflädt mit sehr viele positive Energie.

If you want to visit a place in Bavaria with breathtaking views that is not flooded with tourists, then visit the Sylvenstein Dam. It's worth it.
