My kid and the motivation boost he gave

Hi,

today was a tough start to the week. My kid is sick at home, and luckily I could work from home. Well, working is too much said, as I had to take care of him. Did most of my tasks and had some meetings. What I could delegate, I did delegate, and have the fortune to have a great team working with me.

Yesterday it was snowing, again, and today we had -8°C in the afternoon. I love the cold, but sometimes it hits me and takes all the energy. Managed to do a fire in the fireplace, so that the house is warm, but somehow, had a low motivation to cope with everything today.

The change came from my son, as he asked me, when are we going to do a thing that I promised him. When he is sick, he has some big puppy eyes for which I do everything. So, I realised that I'm slacking and stuff needs to be done, no matter what. I did the promised thing, and he was very happy. The motivation I have comes mostly from him and my wife. Everything else, is irrelevant.

He will also stay tomorrow at home, as I don't want to risk his health. I've got some important tasks to solve, took a day off, for him. As I told him that, he was so happy, that we are going to play a lot. When he has his noon nap, I will take care of business.

That is the best motivation factor there, the family. If they need something, I do it.

Last year, had a good discussion with @schneegecko, who showed me some good thing, that I've been working on the past 2-3 months. I've realised by doing it, that only the family matters. Anything else is secondary. The world seems different from this point of view, and somehow I've stopped listening to news, and reading stupid things. Or at least, I consume less of it.
