Ignore things you can't change, focus on what matters

Hi,

following two very personal posts, the one with my fight about depression and the one about diet and training, I've got some good feedback on discord.

Why on discord? Well, people are afraid to be targeted by the person who is flagging all my posts, and get backlashes for just being a normal user. I know he has his issues, and if he finds comfort in that, let it be. I'm living in his head, not him in mine.

Also, this is a point that I had to fight during my depression time, not bother with things that I can't change. Can I do something about the downvotes? Yes, not care and move on, which I'm doing. Or buy the stake needed to counter them, which I won't, as I don't have the funds, and even if I would, it would be unproductive and a case of ego display.

There are a lot of people who bother with things that they can't control or influence. You will hear them blaming the economy, even if they have their best financial situation since birth. This only eats their soul and happiness. What is the point of being angry or upset about something you have zero control over? When you choose to spend your time and energy on something you can’t control, you’re also choosing not to use it somewhere where you might be able to have a result or have an impact. By investing this huge amount of energy into something futile, we might miss opportunities and in the end get sad, feel miserable and land into longer depression.

So, why worry about a thing that we can't change? Just focus on the things you can influence. Build, be it relationships, a business, a house, something that has an impact. We will probably not change the world, and the first thing that we need to work, is on ourselves, as if we are in a bad shape, how can we even pretend to change something outside. Clean the house, clean your buddy, take care of you and your family like a champion, and only after try to save the world. How can you ask somebody to do something, if your house is full of rubbish, and you are fat, by consuming junk all day. Don't feel miserable if it is so, but instead try to change something. Don't get me wrong, don't ignore others, and if you can help along your journey, to become the better human, do it. Help others, help your community, but try to do it, from a position, where you can leverage your skills.

By engaging in meaningful aspects of your life, you will slightly increase your mood, and if you are in a depressed state, it will help you get out. It definitely helped me on my journey.

As written in the two previous posts of the lifestyle improvement, with taking care of mind, soul and body, if you want to talk, contact me on discord, or in here.

Thank you.

What a gorgeous pic, is that near you?

I am a positive person I think because I developed a shiity type of arthritis at the age of 12, that couple with working in Africa in my early twenties changed my whole outlook on life.

No matter our troubles there are always people worse off than us.

Helping people really is such a great feeling, doing random acts of kindness is a good mood enhancer.

Could you add if the pic was yours in your post that was it will be eligible for leo.voter curation...

Many thanks

Picture is mine, and if I post from somewhere else, I indicate the source. It is fairly close, 1 hour drive from us: https://www.google.com/maps/@47.5533532,10.7354385,20z?entry=ttu it is close to Neuschwanstein and here is another picture from the same spot with my better half:

That's cool and what a beautiful location, and I see not far from a castle on the map you sent. Thanks for that.

The south of Germany has its own charm, with a lot of lakes, mountains and mostly green sights. Also, the weather is quite good compared to North of Europe.

Sorry to hear you keep having issues with downvotes, Alex. Great mindset, though. I don't know if I'd have your resolve to try to ignore this long-term and keep going unshaken. Maybe this is indeed one of Hive's problems, too, regardless of the persons involved.

Was trying to solve it in private, but to no avail. I will keep doing my stuff, and ignore the rest. How are you? All good at your end?

Things go... with ups and downs, as often in life. All good would be an overstatement in my case. :)
