Freedom and what it means for me

Hi,

as the past years have been changing in a world, at a very fast pace, we have also some tough changes in society, where every point of morale is destroyed. Either the morale in terms of Jewish point of view, which is to not do harm and turn the other side of the chick, or the morale of Nietzsche, where a powerful being has is strong in terms of morale, when he has the power to harm others, but does not do it, pointless.

We see that society has changed in the last 3 years, extremism is on the rise, wokeness is on the rise, together with communism, which is real bad, knowing the history of it, being the political choice with the most deaths in history. I was born in communism and know what I'm talking, give me capitalism every time of day, after living in both of them.

What I've learned in communism, is to put a high price on freedom, freedom of choice. Choice of where to live, what do to and whom to hang out is priceless. Even if there are obstacles in the way, we all have the choice to do or not to do a thing. I've also learned, to ignore the toxic people. This is the best way to deal with them, ignore them, as it is their mental problem, not yours.

I would recommend anyone to read Marcus Aurelius, then move slowly to Seneca, even if he lived before Marcus Aurelius, Socrates, and then Enlightenment age. I would do it wrong, if I would not mention René Descartes as base and then change to the German philosophy, starting with Immanuel Kant, which is one of the best, and move to Arthur Schopenhauer on one path and Friedrich Nietzsche on the other. The Age of Enlightenment was the biggest step in modern history. We see that countries who manifest it, are more developed than others, which are tight to religion.

All of the above express the idea of the choice. It is a choice whom to like, whom to speak and whom to say no. It is our choice how we act or react. How much time we spend on mundane things or how much focus we use.

For me, family has the highest value in life, I do everything for them. I want them to be happy, to have the freedom of choice, to do whatever they want. For this, no matter the roadblocks, I will continue doing what I'm doing. Easy as that. Ignore the toxic ones, and enrich my life with good hearted people, that are not assholes and have similar values like mine. Not the same vision, but values, as they are different things. Vision can be a path of work, politics or different opinion on history, value on the other side is the rank of the family in the priority, the humbleness to accept that we are all flawed, the willingness to learn and the way we treat other human beings.

How about you?
