#ViernesDeEscritorio, una forma de difundir a GNU/Linux y al software libre 🇪🇸 🇺🇸

"ViernesdeEscritorio" es una iniciativa de la comunidad de usuarios que amamos GNU/Linux. Tiene un inicio incierto, pero un propósito claro: la difusión del sistema operativo y del software libre. Durante algunos años, se ha realizado esta actividad en distintas redes sociales, y es en X donde se ha consolidado durante los últimos años.

La idea básica es compartir una captura de nuestro escritorio de la distribución GNU/Linux que estamos usando en X, usando la etiqueta #ViernesdeEscritorio. Tan simple como esto. Una idea muy sencilla que está llegando a muchos usuarios que no conocen este sistema operativo o que no se han animado a probarlo. La creatividad de los usuarios y la llamativa personalización de sus escritorios siempre resaltan y motivan a continuar con esta iniciativa.

En esta ocasión, quiero compartir mi captura de mi escritorio KDE Plasma en la distribución Debian Sid. En publicaciones anteriores, ya había compartido que estaba usando Debian Sid con el entorno de escritorio Gnome. A pesar de eso, le he dado la oportunidad a KDE Plasma, que está teniendo un gran desarrollo y se nota que se enfoca en la personalización sin olvidar la estabilidad. Cambiar de entorno es una decisión para aprovechar al máximo las aplicaciones desarrolladas por KDE, que considero lo mejor en cuanto a software libre se refiere. Al estar en Sid, obtengo las últimas actualizaciones.

"Desktop Friday" is an initiative of the user community that we love GNU/Linux. It has an uncertain start, but a clear purpose: the spread of the operating system and free software. For some years, this activity has been carried out in different social networks, and it is in X where it has been consolidated in recent years.

The basic idea is to share a screenshot of our desktop from the GNU/Linux distribution that we are using in X, using the hashtag #viernesdeescritorio. Simple as this. A very simple idea that is reaching many users who do not know this operating system or who have not dared to try it. The creativity of the users and the striking customization of their desktops always stand out and motivate them to continue with this initiative.

This time, I want to share my screenshot of my KDE Plasma desktop on Debian Sid distribution. In previous posts, I had already shared that I was using Debian Sid with Gnome desktop environment. Despite that, I have given the opportunity to KDE Plasma, which is having a great development and it shows that it focuses on customization without forgetting stability. Changing the environment is a decision to make the most of the applications developed by KDE, which I consider to be the best in terms of free software. Being on Sid, I get the latest updates.
