Space Recap "INLEO's AMA: First LeoAds Distribution & New Whitepaper"

I listened to INLEO's AMA last Tuesday, I was commenting on the threadcast normally at first, but halfway through I couldn't send comments anymore. So I decided to write a recap post instead.

It took me a while to finalize it, but here you go:

INLEO's AMA Recap

In this Ask-Me-Anything session, Khal and Eric from the INLEO team touched on many topics including LEO Ads, Threadcasts, and the LEO Docs which outline the vision of the team.

LPUD

The first they talked about was LPUD (Leo Power Up Day,) every single month has been positive in terms of Staked LEO. There were always more users Powering Up than ones Powering Down their LEO token's stakes.

Threadcasts

Threadcasts are live spaces for the community to interact with each other, with comments being shown in real time on LEO Threads. Here's the threadcast for the INLEO AMA.

The newly introduced feature shows who's threadcasting in real-time. Threadcast owners and those who actively comment on the threadcasts are marked with a purple circle around their profile picture. It's useful and very cool!

@khaleelkazi said he already found some utility for the feature. It allowed him to find more threadcasts to upvote in, and he now attends most of the threadcasts on the INLEO Community.

I like the feature too. I loved seeing who's on #threadcast as I browsed InLeo while listening to the space.

Recommend Section

InLeo team is planning on introducing a section below the Long-form article that shows posts mentioned in those posts or posts about the same topics mentioned in the long-form article.

They're also considering adding a "Similar Threads" section below threads that works similarly.

LeoAds Rewards Distribution

INLEO shows ads throughout the interface, the revenue from these ads is used to periodically buy $LEO and reward the active stakeholders in the community as well as the evergreen content on the platform.

During the AMA, @khaleelkaazi said that the first batch of rewards will arrive the day after the AMA. The bot should use the Ads earnings to buy $LEO for the rewards at random times every Monday.

Even INLEO team doesn't know the exact time the bot will buy LEO, that's the case to prevent abuse.

To be eligible for the rewards you have to be active in the community's curation. You have to upvote a minimum amount of posts on the INLEO interface. Then you'll get a share based on your staked $LEO tokens.

The evergreen pool is going for the top authors on INLEO. To be eligible, you have to reach a minimum threshold of impressions/views on your content, and then you get a share . Currently, it only counts long-form content impressions.

Only the Owned $LEO tokens are counted in the stake calculations. That means $LEO that was delegated to you, doesn't count for you. Your owned $LEO delegated to others will still count towards you. Only the real $LEO ownership is counted.

The actively voting LEO stake eligible for the LEO Ads distribution is 11.2 Million $LEO. That's very high, but I'm glad I'm part of it.

Inactive Accounts

Following the mention of an edge case for people who are using multiple accounts. The account that owns the LEO token should be active in the curation of INLEO posts even if 100% of its LEO is delegated to other accounts.

INLEO is moving in a direction where you'll not separate HIVE and LEO activities.

Currently INLEO interface shows the total USD value of both HIVE and LEO.

NFT

INLEO team members are considering use-cases for their NFTs. The NFTs would give fun "Power-ups" on the UI.

One example, @khaleelkaazi mentioned is the NFT giving you bigger Upvotes for a limited time upon use, or it shows your post in the recommended section for a limited time or maybe giving you discounts for INLEO services for a limited time. I would love it if NFTs allowed for a cheaper Premium subscription too.

Khal mentioned that the NFTs usefulness will depend on their Rarity.

I'd love to draw some art for one of those NFTs in the future. Maybe I should ask about it.

Focusing on the INLEO Interface

Currently, articles posted on other interfaces using the #inleo #leofinance tags are rewarded, but @khaleelkaazi is considering limiting the $LEO token distribution to only the INLEO interface in the future.

That's because INLEO mostly wants to reward users who support its interface. I think it's pretty fair, but I'm a bit disappointed I might not be able to earn LEO when posting through Ecency or DBuzz in the future.

The Docs

INLEO doesn't have a detailed Roadmap because the vision of the team is always evolving and feedback is always considered. INLEO's Roadmap is more of a compass than a Map.

@khaleelkaazi compiled a Documentation for INLEO's vision. It's currently a rough draft and only 80% of the pages are complete, but it's on the section of the website called Docs: https://docs.inleo.io/

INLEO team would love feedback on the Docs, comment those on threads using the #feedback tag. Even the zealy campaign for this AMA is about these Docs.

Reputation System

One idea for a reputation system is an Engagement Score. Instead of a reputation system, the engagement system tracks your activity in the community and it decreases over time if you stop being active.

The current reputation system doesn't tell a lot other than how long someone is being around the HIVE blockchain.

Leo Node

The Leo Node was syncing. It was 19 hours behind at the time of the AMA, so it'll probably be up this Friday. Nodes are given to sync up the whole HIVE blockchain to work correctly.

Leo having its own HIVE Node is important, because many nodes INLEO has been using couldn't keep up with the community when it's most active.

Deflationary Asset

More LEO is bought back than LEO being sold each month. Keo bought by @leoads @leo.voter and @leopool each month is more than the new LEO being created. That was the case for the past two months.

What Do You Think?

There have been other things talked about in the AMA, but I touched upon the main points. It was an educational experience to listen to the AMA, and I'm glad I got to listen to it again for this recap.

Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you in another post.

Salam (Peace.)
