Let's Play "Spilled" - A Relaxing Game About Saving the Ocean From Pollution

Spilled is one of the games showcased at Steam Next Fest. I downloaded the demo and had a good time playing it. I never noticed the time until I got the "end of the demo" screen, which should let you know how immersed I was with it.

This above, is my recording of my first time playing Spilled.

The game is very simple. You control a ship and navigate the seas to find places stained with Oil and other pollutions.

To help you do so, there are various upgrades you can add to the ship to make the work easier. You earn money by sending the collected Oil to port, and use these money for upgrades, the Like having a bigger tank or a wider collecting range.

In Spilled Demo, the mechanics were introduced slowly. After teaching the player how to move the ship, the first mechanic to be introduced is collecting Oil by moving towards it. The second area introduces junk that can be moved around while navigating the sea. The third area introduces Oil on the mountains, which can be driven to the sea by spraying it with water. No mechanic overstays its welcome before a new one is added to the mix.

There are also a few animals in need of saving. Some places, especially far away from the port have animals stuck in the Oil puddles. Reaching them adds them to the list of animals you've saved. It's another wholesome aspect to this relaxing game.

Spilled is the type of gaming that I would play to unwind. A pallate cleaner between intense gaming sessions, it helps that the game only requires controller to play, and the controls are easy to understand.

Watch my recording of the playthrough, and tell me, what do you think?
