Create a truly effective LinkedIn profile (1/2)

In this second post of the LinkedIn file for SMEs we will see how to build a useful profile for your business.

As a freelance or SME manager, the main question you should ask yourself before starting is: how do I get professionals in my sector to find me, consult my profile and want to get in touch with me, join my network or buy my products? In short, how do I distinguish myself and convince?

Too often considered a site for recruiting only, LinkedIn is in fact a powerful B2B marketing tool for freelancers, business leaders and all decision-makers.

With 175 million members worldwide, it is a key resource for making connections with professionals and businesses, increasingly leading to new collaborations and new contracts.

Joining LinkedIn is easy.

Go to www.linkedin.com . Joining is very simple you just want an email address and a strong password. Creating a standard profile is completely free and is more than enough at first.

This is where the incredible odyssey of your networking 2.0 begins. Once registered, LinkedIn asks you to complete a series of personal information. All this information helps to showcase you and, above all, to optimize your SEO .

Fastidious? Perhaps. Useful ? Absolutely since it makes you more visible in LinkedIn as well as in Google!

This article is not an exhaustive tutorial, for all the questions you may have about the configuration of your account, I recommend that you read a very complete white paper about linkedin.

Take the time to complete the Profile , Email Preferences and Account sections . There you can fine-tune your privacy settings and what you want to share and with whom, and much more. Leave aside the Groups, companies and applications section for now, we will come back to this in a future post.

As you complete your profile, you will see a slider in the top right-hand corner indicating the degree of completion as well as suggestions for completing it.According to LinkedIn a complete profile increases the effectiveness of your marketing by 40% . The information you share allows professionals - recruiters, suppliers, future clients or potential partners - to get to know you better. This step is therefore essential to develop your visibility and your notoriety in your sector of activity.
