My Cleaning Activity For Thursday, the 11th of April, 2024.

Good day my fellow Hivers, welcome to my blog. Today I carried out my cleaning activity within my community. A lot of people dump their household wastes into the water bodies and as soon as the rain becomes a bit heavy, they use that as leverage to dump all their refuse into the water bodies. Huge amounts of consumer plastics, metals, rubber, paper, textiles, vessels and other lost or thrown-away items enter the marine environment every time it rains.

Marine debris is a danger to both marine life and human health, as well as the health of the planet. This can affect aquatic organisms, which can result in injuries, suffocation, and even death. Moreover, toxic chemicals from these pollutants can get into the food chain and impact human health, if consumed.

We need to encourage individuals to take responsibility for their waste and promote sustainable consumption and disposal practices.
Reduce, reuse, and recycle: Promote the reduction of single-use plastics and encourage the use of reusable alternatives. Organize beach clean-ups, river clean-ups, and other community-driven initiatives to remove marine debris from the environment. Cooperate with local communities, schools, and organizations to make these efforts more effective and sustainable.
