When parents are wrong and when they are right.

Hi friends, it is good to have you back today in my blog. I have been having a great time this year and I believe that you are also enjoying yourself this year.

Leading to the topic for this post, we are looking at - Week 96:- Edition 02:-
With the topic Always Right?*

*Based on experience, it's easy to come to the conclusion that our parents are always right, however, we've seen instances where they're wrong in some instances. Tell us about a time your parents were right and what they did/told you really helped you out.

There are lots of them actually but I can still remember a few and I will love to share them with us.
When I was coming up as a teenager my mum kept telling me to avoid boys and concentrate on my studies. To me at that time I saw her as a woman who has enjoyed her life when she had the opportunity and now that it is my own turn she don't want me to enjoy myself. I refused to listen to her and continued to flex about. I felt that I was on top of the world. You know when you think that you are happening right now. Hahaha 😂. It was really fun. But I did not know that I was going to harm myself. My destiny was not save with that kind of life style that I was living but I didn't care. My eyes began to open when I see some of my friends dying from one abortion to another. I saw how some of them lost their studies because of unwanted pregnancy. One in particular died of HIV AND AIDS. As of that time if you hear that anyone has that disease you will just conclude that he or she is dying. She died few years after she contacted the sickness. I started running for my life. Even at that I never opened up to accept what my mother said was correct. I always made her feel that I am in my time and that she should allow me enjoy it.

WHEN PARENTS GO WRONG.
And then, tell us about the time they were wrong and what they did/told you only made things worse for you.

Sometimes also they get it all wrong. Base on their own understand there are certain things that we should do certain ways. In this our generation, things have changed. When I got married and gave birth to my first child, my mummy came for what our people call - omugwu. That means a mother going to birth her child and the new born baby. She took her time to instruct me on what to eat and what not to eat as a nursing mother. I never followed most of her instructions. Hahaha 😂. Me I Sha know say I dey stubborn from when I be small pikin. I remember one day that she advised that we should give my baby of two weeks red oil to stop the baby's stomach from disturbing. That day I don't know what came over me and I decided to follow her instructions. I almost lost my baby that night. While that will be the story for another day.

In conclusion I don't want us to forget the fact that our parents can not be replaced by anyone on earth. Even if you feel like they are telling you something not correct and they expect you to follow suit. There is always a way to go about it. Make sure to follow them in a gentle manner.
