Mastering Leothreads: How to Thrive in an Attention-Based Economy and Build Your "Hive Avatar"

avatar

The emergence of attention-based economies is a no-brainer, considering the amount of time individuals spend online, regardless of their location in the world. Smartphones are ubiquitous; your kid has one, your grandma has one, and you're an owner of such a device too.

I'm an internet and Hive addict, and there's no cure for that. Thank God I'm not addicted to alcohol... While some addictions consume time, energy, and health, others like Hive can be quite lucrative.

Besides leveraging your Hive activity to earn HIVE and HE tokens, you can also use it to build an audience, create a community, learn, teach, and interact. Leothreads of @leofinance may no longer be the latest hype on Hive, but it's a "chamber room" that shouldn't be overlooked.

Microblogging is something Hive has been lacking, and many of us have expressed our desire for such a platform/community on the blockchain. It took Leofinance a while, but it's finally here, and it's great to be a part of it.

Leothreads is an attention-based economy, and it's essential to learn how to leverage it effectively. I'm going to do my best and share my insights on how a #leothreads active user can maximize #threads. But first, let's understand what an attention-based economy is.

"An attention-based economy refers to a system where the attention and engagement of individuals become valuable commodities. In this context, attention becomes a form of currency that businesses and content creators seek to capture and monetize. The attention economy thrives in the digital age, where there is an abundance of information and media competing for people's limited attention spans."

Now, let's briefly explore how you and I can make the most out of Leothreads. Don't worry; I'm not talking about literally "milking" anything out of context :)). First things first... Upvotes. Several individuals, such as @taskmaster4450, @onealfa, and @khaleelkazi, actively curate content on Leothreads.

Their mana (LP) holds considerable weight, and their votes can easily generate a few tens of dollars a day in curation rewards. However, these three individuals are not the only ones curating microblogs on @leofinance. There are a few others as well, so don't focus solely on them and spam them with comments hoping for a small upvote.

Do your own thing, be original, and let your vibes attract the attention of the community :). Man, I feel like I've become a poet and philosopher lately. Let's talk about content and what, in my opinion, receives the most upvotes. Just as "quality" matters for long-form content, it also applies to microblogging.

So, don't simply post for the sake of posting. Taking out your camera and shooting your dinner plate is one thing, but doing so while ensuring the quality of your photo and sharing a small description of the moment you just captured is a whole different story.

I see Leothreads as a direct competitor to Instagram, and if you look at Instagram, the most followed and curated content creators are the ones who put their heart and dedication into their content. So, choose the right angle for your photos, pick your words wisely, and avoid being a spammer.

Yes, quantity matters, but in my opinion, quality is more important. Once you get the hang of creating "quality threads," you'll be able to put out multiple high-quality threads a day. Leothreads is a project with a long-term vision.

These zealous campaigns may come and go, but your reputation will remain on the blockchain forever. Therefore, if you're looking to put as much content on the blockchain as possible, dedicate as much time as you can to make it desirable and valuable.

I might be wrong, but my gut feeling tells me that at some point, we will have Leothreads influencers and top creators, just like we have them in the long-form content side of Hive and on traditional social media platforms.

Don't underestimate the power of reputation. Hive is no longer just a blogging site; its potential goes beyond sharing blog posts and "getting paid for that." So, why not leverage all of these features combined to polish and enhance your "Hive avatar" as much as possible?

Sociable and fun individuals will always attract followers and curators. And even though your newest followers may come solely from Leothreads, rest assured that they will pay attention to what you share on the blockchain across all the communities you are part of.

I dedicate as much time to reading and engaging with threads as I do with my following list and their long-form content. In my opinion, Leothreads is a significant opportunity and currently undervalued.

Last but not least, let's talk about engagement. This is something I learned the hard way on Hive. I thought I could make a living on Hive by going it alone, but I was so damn wrong. Hive is a society, and in a society, you have to be engaging to stand out from the crowd.

I see quite a few creators on Leothreads who simply post content and never return to engage with comments on their posts. That's not productive, in my opinion. Interconnectivity and engagement are powerful tools that should not be neglected.

I've noticed that some of the most engaging authors on Hive not only interact with the author of a post that caught their attention but also take the time to comment on replies to that post. This way, these individuals manage to extend their influence and earn themselves support, followers, and upvotes.

Attention is a valuable asset in the digital age we live in, and making yourself vivid and colorful will attract a lot of attention and the benefits that come with it. To put it simply, if you want to succeed on Leothreads, don't just post... Make a name for yourself, be vibrant, be active, be smart, put your heart and soul into your posts, and treat your time spent on Threads like a farmer treats seeding season.

I might have missed some important topics that should be mentioned in my mini-guide on how to succeed on Leothreads, so feel free to share your thoughts and insights on the matter. Have a great Sunday, and see you next time.

Thanks for your attention,
Adrian

I have really come across a good thinker! These are the words I needed to keep me going productively! Believe me, sometimes we get lost along the way, it's good to be able to get back to it! I will take back the time --to polish and improve my "Hive avatar" as much as possible--.
