Parenting, a very challenging task it is…

Hello everyone, I welcome you all once again to my blog and I am very excited to write and participate in this week’s prompt although I have been busy with academics since we just commenced our end of semester examinations. This is going to be my second post entry for this week’s prompt and I am glad to have participated twice this week upon all the busy schedules I have been through.

Without much I do, I would like to start with today’s topic. But then I would be tackling the second topic of this week’s prompt which is about your the kind of parent I would be in the near future.

Parenting is one of the most difficult and challenging part of being a couple. It’s not easy I must say, although I haven’t experienced that yet but then looking at what my parents are going through since I was brought up, I got to realize that it’s not an easy task to be a parent. All the same, we need to accept the fact that it’s part of life and it’s also part of the responsibility of parents.

With all the challenges involved in parenting, one need to ensure that before he or she enters in to such situation, you should be well prepared for it. For instance, you need to be matured and financially stable before venturing into the matter of parenting because parenting isn’t for anyone. After mystifying parenting, I would like to give a brief overview of how I would live as a parent.

First of all, as I said earlier, before I would venture into parenting, I would make sure that I am financially stable enough to cater for myself and the kids as well as the wife. Most marriages or homes are broken due to poverty or financial instability on the side of one of the spouse. This can be as a result of lack of stable or well paid job before getting into marriage and the likes.

Moreover, when I become a parent, I would make sure I train my children and raise them on the skills that they are best at. What I mean here is that, as parent we need to understand the gifted talent of our children and try to train and build them upon such instead of trying to change their gifted skills to something else that we want them to be. For instance, if you realize your son is a good mathematician and he loves to become an engineer in the near future, permit him and don’t force him into medical school or whatsoever. It’s very rare to see such things happening in our various communities.

Furthermore, in upbringing my children, I would train and teach them good moral values aside what they are being taught in schools. It is very necessary that parents teach their children the basic moral values such as greetings, respecting elders, honesty, etc in the house so they don’t become truant and disrespectful children in the community or wherever they find themselves.
