spending some time with Heer

“I want to sing like the birds sing, not worrying about who hears or what they think.”
― Rumi

Hi everyone. I hope you all are fine. I am doing well for myself. I have always found this community a wonderful place where our little feathered friends are loved and acknowledged. People give little to no love to these little beautiful beings.

I have realized that their presence makes us smile and feel light hearted. I was feeling a little low because of a few things. I had nothing to cheer me up. My cousin has a little parrot. He has raised it since it was born. This is why the parrot named Heer( female) is a very friendly one. It does not feel comfortable with anyone other than my cousin. He has taken care of it always and this is probably why the parrot does not fly away from him.

This little experience reminded me of my childhood. I also had a parrot like Heer. I used to spend a lot of time with it. I was too young to understand that putting birds in a cage is wrong. I used to feed and protect it, but growing up, it felt wrong to keep a flying spirit locked like this. So, one day, I decided to let my parrot fly away. It was painful for me, but it was the right thing and I am still proud of my decision. When I looked at Heer and my cousin, Heer has full grown feathers, and my cousin does not put it in a cage, she still decides to stay. This is what we are supposed to do in our lives. We have to let go our loved ones rather than being their cages. If they are meant to stay, they will stay no matter what. I hope you will understand what I am trying to say here.

Be kind to birds.

I was a little nervous because a parrot has not climbed my hand before haha. You can see here from my expressions. It was a jolly and cute experience with this cute little feathered friend.

However, since my cousin is very young and that he loves his parrot a lot, he has not cut its nails at all. The nails were way too long and sharp. I got a few cuts around my wrist after it climbed my hand. It meant no harm. It did a little kiss thing on my ear too.

I got a few pictures with it and it made me forget about everything else that was on my mind. This is how tender the feathered friends are.

Thank you so much for your time and support. It means a lot to me. Do share your views and thoughts in the comments section below so that we can learn and grow together. I hope you liked the pictures and the blog. Take care of yourself and have a great day ahead. Do not forget to follow my account.

Ps: The pictures and the video are mine.

This is the first time I am uploading a video, I just hope that I am doing it right.

Hello, parakeets and parrots are cute and intelligent. We had a parakeet that died in December more than a year ago. We miss him a lot because he was very affectionate.
