The book that changed my perspective.

"The universe is one being. Everything and everyone is interconnected through an invisible web of stories. Whether we are aware of it or not, we are all in a silent conversation."
Elif Shafak, Forty Rules Of Love

Hi guys. I hope that you all are fine. I doing well too. This is my entry to the #creativenonfiction prompt of this week. I have graduated in English Literature from the University of Sindh in 2021. This is why I am so much inclined towards books. However, there is this one book that changed a lot of things about how I see life today.

It was back in 2018 when one of my classmates whom I fell in love with gave me a book named Forty Rules Of Love by Elif Shafak. It is a really important book because of multiple reasons and it did bring multiple changes in my life. One of the major things that makes this book very significant in my life is that it was a gift from the love of my life. I still hold it very close to my heart and it is one of the very first novels that made me a book addict.

Other than that, the content and the way it is written makes me love it always. I recommend this book to everyone in my surrounding. It is a book surrounding on the story of Molana Rumi and Shams Tabriz. I see Shams Tabriz as my intellectual master. This book highlights the importance of taking right decisions at the right moment in your life with the example of Ella and both Rumi and Shams.

The 40 rules of Love given by Shams are essentially the rules of leading a good life. One of the rules tells us to recognize our own flaws and then the flaws of others will not bother us. This little advice brought a lot of changes in the way I saw things. I used to criticize people by highlighting their flaw. Basically, I was a negative person. With this thing, I realized that I am full of flaws too. I started working on myself and became a more accepted part of my social circle. My fiancee says that she will always be proud of me for doing this.

This book is about spirituality too. It also emphasizes on the spiritual exploration of an individual. Above all, it revolves around the essence of love. Love has the power to change anything and everything. It told me how a house wife with kids left everything for her love Aziz and how Rumi, a religious scholar, became a poet in the love of Shams of Tabriz.

This book gave me a lot of new feelings. It took me to the sky, but it kept me grounded as well. I loved every word and every page of it and I would recommend you all to give it a go at least once in your lifetime. I assure you that you won't regret it.

Thank you for your time and support. It means a lot to me. Do share your thoughts and feelings in the comments section below so that we can learn and grow together. Follow for more such content.

I will find it and read it. I remember when for me love was to find someone to love, then when I was happy and now love is the energy that keeps all in its place, basically everything is love.
Really intrigued by this

I want to read this book. The inspiration to be better especially at putting your flaws before you, so that the flaws of others don't seem like much is a remarkable piece of advice.
