Traffic occurs when we have a congestion of pedestrians and vehicles on our road going or coming in some directions. When there are good roads there won't be much traffic. The devastating state of some Nigerian roads causes unnecessary traffic.

Also, indiscipline on the side of the commuters causes a lot of traffic around the city. Living in a country where the citizenry has been provoked by poor governance and corruption that leads to the deplorable states of amenities and infrastructures, I have witnessed several disregard to the law of the land and the authorities. This attitude makes motorists disobey traffic rules which lead to traffic congestion all over the city.

One of the most undisciplined set of societal components that poses much problem to traffic is the okada riders. Okada riders are motorbike transportation operators. These people tend to act out of restiveness and rebellion to the government authorities. They pose a lot of traffic problems in the country.

In most of the States there have been regulations and laws which abolish the use of motor bikes for commercial purposes. These laws came into play because criminals were hijacking the motor cyclists business for kidnapping and robbery. That law has improved the traffic conditions of such cities.
