We cannot exclude the father from the son or vice versa, we have to worship both.
Just like God is the head of Christ, and worshiping Christ without God is likened to worshiping the headless likewise worshiping God without Christ would be incomplete because we know that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through him.
