Let's Try "Little Eidolons" (PICO-8) A Really Good Tactics Monster Catching Game for the Console
Little Eidolons by SmartAlloc is a Tactical RPG for PICO-8 with Monster Catching mechanics. It's really good considering the limitations of PICO-8.
In this game you control a Summoner and you have to choose a monster to be your first friend. After that, you're taught how to play and thrown to the open world where you can find other monsters and fight them.
You can catch a new monster if the one who made the final attack if your summoner.
I love the personality crammed in these small pixels of monsters. The sound design of Little Eidolons is beautiful too. I would definitely play this game again!
PICO-8 is a Fantasy Console designed to create, share and play small retro-inspired games. Games made for PICO-8 are constrained in aethistics, code and size to encourage creativity. PICO-8 comes with a built-in code editor, graphics, and sound tools. Games are distributed in image files called Cartridges.
